We just got back and had an amazing time! Nozawa is such a great little town for a snow holiday.
My two girls had a ball skiing. It was excellent to stay at Chitosekan again too. The lady owner is so lovely and just as I remember.
We will definitely return and I will recommend you to anyone looking to book a snow holiday.

We really enjoyed Zao Onsen. The hotel location is great and the deal good value. There is a lot of snow this year.
We’re thinking of going to Appi kogen in 2026. One week at Appi and one week at Zao, around the first two weeks of February (dates to be confirmed).
It would be great if you can recommend any good value deals closer to the time.

Hi Hiro,
We returned to NZ on Monday thanks.
We had an incredible time as we always do when we go to Japan.
The snowboarding at Alts and Shizukuishi was fantastic.
We didn’t get much new snow at Alts but we were still able to find plenty of nice untracked snow in the tree areas off the top/side of the lifts.
Alts was definitely our favorite of the 3 resorts we visited.
The ski terrain, lack of westerners and quality of food and facilities was significantly better than Shizukuishi and Aomori.
The food and rooms etc at Aomori were all good thanks.
We were unfortunately caught in that most recent storm system which meant the high winds affected the Gondola operating and also the pair lift which accessed steeper terrain.
The backcountry looked interesting, but we weren’t equipped well enough to venture too far. It seems that it is a drawcard for the area because there were lots of groups of people heading off piste up into the hills behind.
All in all, it was a great 3 weeks and I’m quite sure we will be returning next year.
I will definitely be in touch with you again if I return!

Wow what an awesome place to visit. Our family couldn’t thank you enough for helping us to plan our trip. The language barrier obviously created an issue for us in the planning process but your knowledge and help made everything happen smoothly from the bullet trains through to the hotel and ski rental. We had no issues with the hotel and our room was awesome. The newer part of the resort is definitely the place to stay.
We found the mountain family friendly and the slopes were awesome for our kids to learn and progress on. There were no cues on the chair lifts which was such a pleasant surprise and made for the best experience.
We skied at least twice a day, every day. And the ability to night ski was an extra bonus. We had every condition from a foot of powder, bluebird days to a blizzard on the last morning which would have turned into amazing boarding if we had stayed another night.
We are more than happy to recommend you and your company to our friends and you can contact me anytime for a reference.
We are totally stoked and are talking about doing it again so will most likely be in touch again in the future.

My husband and I were at Shiga Kogen from 26th Feb to 4th Mar 2024. We booked our 7-night package at Prince Hotel West Building from Powderski Japan. Hiro-san, who was in charge of our booking, was helpful all the way and was very prompt in attending to my emails. I would say our early bird deal was a very good one as we got 3 free nights by booking 4 nights of stay. This package also comes with 7 daily breakfast and 3 days of ski pass for Yakebitai slopes.
The Prince Hotel West Building was big with a huge dining hall. Our double room was comfortable with enough room to sit and relax at the end of the day. The onsen was never crowded and breakfast came with lots of choices, with plenty to eat. The Ramen Corner restaurant which is just next to the hotel serves good, simple Japanese food at very reasonable prices. There is a Chinese restaurant right above it but we didn’t try.
It was our second time to Shiga Kogen. Staying at Prince Hotel was convenient as the Shiga Kogen shuttle bus comes regularly and on time, every time to bring us to Ichinose/Higashidate area and to Yokoteyama area. The other shuttle bus by Prince Hotel is available to go to Ichinose for more dining choices. The Nagaden bus runs from Nagano station all the way to Prince Hotel, so that is super convenient.
All in all, my husband and I had a great time. I would book with Powderski again next year. Am already looking forward to receiving next season’s early bird promotion from Hiro-san.

Our family travelled to Shiga Kogen Japan in February 2024. The skiing conditions at Shiga Kogen were fantastic and the scenery was breathtaking! The runs at Yakebitaiyama were quite challenging (even the green runs), but we found some courses at Ichinose which were easier and more enjoyable for the whole family. Hiro at Powder Ski Japan helped us book accommodation at Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel West. The accommodation was clean and quiet. Hiro provided friendly, helpful and prompt service – we would happily use the services of Powder Ski Japan again!

We had a great visit to Shigakogen. Snow was good, some very good groomers along with some japow made for an excellent ski holiday.
Prince Hotel was a very pleasant stay, excellent breakfast and ski in and ski out makes for a very relaxed experience.
If you could let us know when the earlybird deals become available for 2025 that would be very much appreciated.
