The Aomori Spring Ski Resort (formerly Naqua Shirakami Ski Resort) has not been discovered westerners yet and still kept secret place.
Aomori spring provides a modern Japanese skiing experience and still remaining lots of powder runs. There is no lift queues are guaranteed!
It is also fabulous for free style snowboarding and skiers. The Aomori Park is meticulously shaped by John Melville from Development Snowparks. John and his team are heavily involved from first concepts right through to the final touches of lip shaping.
With its pristine beech forests, world-class snow conditions and long trails which extend over 3.5km in length and drop 545 vertical metres, Mount Iwaki is the setting for Aomori Spring Ski Resort’s 14 ski trails. During the day, catch the gondola up to a height of 921
metres and take in awe-inspiring views of the Tsugaru Plain and the Sea of Japan. After dark, enjoy night skiing on one of several floodlit trails. Day or night, experience superb mountain-side dining at one of our ski-in, ski-out cafes and restaurants. Best of all, you can enjoy all of this safe in the knowledge that excellent snow conditions are guaranteed throughout the length of the winter season.

If you want to take things to the next level, consider their Guided Backcountry Tours where they take you beyond the resort boundaries, through the “snow monsters” above Mt IWAKI’s tree line. Deep, untouched powder and awe-inspiring views over the Sea of Japan await you!
Their JMGA-qualified guides are highly experienced backcountry skiing and snowboarding and are members of the Shirakami Guide Association. They have your utmost safety in mind.
All backcountry packages are full day tours. A beacon, probe and shovel are required and may be rented from Tour Company with extra costs.
