About Karuizawa
Karuizawa holds one of the biggest outlet malls in Japan and has been a consistently popular tourist destination. Its proximity to Tokyo and abundant stores make it an attractive destination all year round, with many Japanese flocking to experience the buzz. The area is famous for holiday homes but mostly for its amazing shopping. Most notable is the Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, a giant outlet mall with over 250 stores including international brands such as Burberry and Nike, local brands, gift shops and restaurants. Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza is also popular; Karuizawa’s main street lined with souvenir stores, boutiques, restaurants and cafés.
The area also has the Karuizawa Prince Hotel Snow Resort, which is the catered perfectly for kids and beginner riders, and hosts three ski schools, all of which provide very well for families and children. Manza Onsen Snow Resort is also located nearby (approx. 90 minutes by bus) and is the perfect day trip destination. In summer, tourists come to make the most of the cool summer temperatures and the beautiful golf courses in the area.

Karuizawa is just 1 hour away from Tokyo with the Hokuriku Shinkansen Bullet Train.
The Karuizawa Prince Hotel is a short walk away from the train station.
Kyu-Karuizawa is within walking distance, however it may be better to taxi or bus.
